Sandy Martinez:
Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and trailblazers of the digital era, welcome to the Women of Web3 (WW3) United Nations 79th Summit Session. My name is Sandra Martinez, and as the founder and session leader, I am honored to share this space with you today.
We are embarking on an extraordinary journey, where we will hear from women who are breaking barriers in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. In the realms of Web3, Digital Assets, and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), the call for gender equality is more urgent than ever. As these new technologies shape the future, ensuring gender inclusivity and addressing disparities has become an absolute necessity.
At Women of Web3, we are deeply committed to cultivating a space that empowers women to not only participate but to lead in the Web3 and NFT ecosystems. Today’s session is a testament to that commitment, as we gather to celebrate and elevate the voices of women who are shaping the future of the internet, blockchain technology, and beyond.
We are incredibly proud to bring our WW3 session, titled "Inclusive Futures: Women Shaping the Web3 Landscape," to the United Nations General Assembly's 79th Science Summit (UNGA79). This session highlights the extraordinary accomplishments of female leaders, creators, and developers in the Web3 space while addressing the unique challenges they face. Our goal is to develop strategies that reduce inequalities for women in this emerging sector, aligning closely with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).
Today, we will hear from an incredible lineup of visionary women representing a global tapestry of talent. They come from Zambia, Sweden, India, the United States, Colombia, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Greece, the Dominican Republic, and Argentina. These leaders bring diverse expertise, perspectives, and experiences from a variety of fields—each one a trailblazer in her own right, driving gender inclusivity, leadership, and innovation within the Web3 space.
We hope this session not only inspires new conversations but also sparks meaningful collaborations and strengthens our collective mission to build a more inclusive and equitable digital future. Thank you for joining us and contributing to this important dialogue.
Now, before we continue, I ask you all to join me in a moment of silence to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This day, forever etched in our hearts, serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of unity, love, peace, and the freedoms that every individual deserves. Let us take this moment to honor the lives lost and reflect on our shared commitment to a better, more inclusive world for all.
And now, a few words from Cyndi Coon, UN Liaison for Women of Web3.
Good morning, distinguished guests, esteemed colleagues, and visionaries from around the world. It is my profound honor to welcome you to this session, where we gather to explore and envision the future—a future shaped by the transformative power of Web3 and the indomitable spirit of women.
My journey into the Web3 space began with an insatiable curiosity. As a creative and a futurist, I’ve always been driven by a deep-seated desire to look beyond the present, to imagine what lies ahead, and to explore the immense possibilities the future holds for humanity. When I speak of Web3, I am not merely discussing blockchain, cryptocurrencies, or NFTs—though these technologies are indeed significant. I see Web3 as much more—a revolutionary force capable of ushering in a new era of personalization and self power.
In the future I envision people will no longer sign away their digital lives unknowingly through fine print. Instead, they will make conscious decisions about how to share, control, and monetize their data. This shift will democratize financial opportunities, allowing individuals to earn in ways we can only begin to imagine today. As technology advances, much of our labor may be automated by AI and bots. Yet, the true value will lie in our minds, our personal data, and our unique information—assets that Web3 will help us recognize to personally capitalize on.
Last year marked the beginning of our journey with the Women in Web3 initiative, where we had the privilege of launching our first cohort of 17 incredible women. Their passion, expertise, and vision laid the foundation for what was to come. Now, as we enter year two, we are beyond excited to present a whole new crew of extraordinary women who are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in Web3.
This belief in the human-centric potential of Web3 brought me into partnership with an extraordinary leader, Sandy Martinez. Her commitment to community and her leadership has left a lasting impact on me. Our shared dedication to human well-being led us to collaborate to combine our dreams and aspirations. Today we present one of those dreams.
Transition: We begin this journey with Dani Mariano, President of Razorfish for our Keynote address.
Thank you, Sandy, and thank you all for joining us for what is sure to be an incredible event. I’m honored to be your keynote speaker today, on what is a somber day of remembrance here in the US. But being among so many talented women who are truly trailblazers in this space is filling me with feelings of inspiration.
[2 second pause]
Working with emerging technology is about navigating the unknown, charting an uncharted path, and showing others the way. Right now, we are in the midst of a pivotal moment, where we are shaping the future and pioneering where technology will take us. I believe Women in Web3 play an invaluable role in leading this charge during this technology supercycle.
My personal Women of Web3 story started before I even knew what Web3 was. I built my career in an era where few, if any, seats at the table were being held by women. I often found when a woman did break through, she fiercely clung to her place, at times seeing other women as threats or competition. As difficult as that success was to achieve, it made it that much harder for other women to achieve the same.
[2 second pause]
In my own career pursuit, my mission has been to approach leadership like climbing a mountain with an extra rope in tow. As I reached an executive role, I have intentionally turned back, tossed the rope down, and held out my hand to pull other women up and forward with me. At the end of the day, our successes are not just defined by what we do, but who we champion and surround ourselves with. And that’s what being an empowering female leader is all about.
It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career seeing so many talented women leaders thriving at Razorfish. From Lea Taylor, our Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, to Cristina Lawrence, who was just named to the Campaign US 40 over 40 list, we’re just getting started.
Perhaps, most significantly, is that these women are in positions where they are leading in technology and innovation. Sadly, this is an uncommon occurrence, which I’ll explain shortly. Early in my career, many men told me the Internet was just a fad. What I would give to see their reactions now. I mean, look where we are today! But now, two decades of digital marketing experience and technological advancements later, I find myself facing a similar moment with Web3. Many still claim it’s just a fad. I didn’t buy it then, and I’m not buying it now.
[2 second pause]
Still, I won’t pretend we aren’t in a state of urgency. That urgency is not regarding Web3’s legitimacy, but the necessity for inclusion in emerging tech spaces.
To put this in perspective, I asked ChatGPT to write a generic title for a keynote given by a male executive:
"Leading with Purpose: The Power of Empathy and Innovation in Modern Leadership". Leadership, Power, and Innovation all stand out.
Then I changed one word: swapping “male” with “female”.
"Breaking Barriers: Redefining Success through Resilience and Authentic Leadership". It sounds like this female executive should be grateful to be on such a stage. Even ChatGPT recognizes how hard it is to achieve and that it takes plenty of resilience.
Visually, this experiment was even more alarming. I asked Dall-E to create an image of a male executive presenting a keynote speech at a conference (show image). This feels a bit dystopian, but overall, a good rendition. Then I asked it to create an image of a female executive presenting a keynote speech at a conference (show image). This feels like an inclusive image, balanced, with a diverse audience. But then I asked it to create an image of a woman of color executive presenting a keynote speech at a conference (show image). Not only does it present an animated cartoon-like image at far lower quality than the first two, but every audience member appears to be white. It’s out of place and inconsistent, if not insensitive.
Clearly, the tools we have at our disposal are operating with biased data that is not even close to representative. But the reality is, every day, the future is being defined as the current data pours into these tools. Our society is contingent on this moment. If we aren’t inclusive now, we may come too far and be unable to go back. Technology cycles are accelerating at a rapid pace. Bias found in these data sets is the enemy of an equitable global future.
[2 second pause]
The case for diversity in technology is clear. McKinsey says top-quartile diverse companies had nearly 40% greater likelihood of financial outperformance in 2023. But the gap remains wide. Women hold just 28% of computing and math roles according to Zippia. According to Accenture, half of the women who go into tech drop out by the time they turn 35. And for every 100 men in tech promoted to manager, just 52 women are promoted to the same leadership role according to McKinsey. It’s no surprise that in 2022, the number of total women working in tech increased by less than 1%. Two of the UN’s Initiatives speak to this problem: #5 “Gender Equality” and #10 “Reducing Inequalities.” Bringing women and people of color into technology roles is how we can start to instill significant change, catch biases, and correct what white men even with the best of intentions may not see. Diverse talent, combined with the blockchain’s capability to provide provenance and transparency, will play a critical role in the development of a world where we raise up marginalized communities through technology.
Fortunately, there is plenty of reason for hope, and it starts with the women who will be speaking at this event. They are the ones being the change we want to see in the world, and we’re excited to hear them share their expertise, incredible stories and experiences, obstacles overcome, and inspiring fights to secure a seat at the table and voice in the room.
We’ll hear the latest on Web3 experiences and insights, and how both Web3 and AI can foster inclusivity in the future.
We will learn about the evolution of fashion and art on the blockchain, a topic I’m incredibly passionate about and was fortunate to speak about at Consensus earlier this summer.
We’ll also gain an understanding of the remaining education, language, and technology barriers in Web3, and how the power of blockchain technology can bring both disruption and social impact.
These women mentioned above, and so many more here today, are providing hope and are continuing to strive for progress on the greatest technology challenges of our time. How we scale, amplify, and solve these problems from an inclusive perspective will define our legacies.
[2 second pause]
I think we all know we still have a lot of work to do. We need to use our influence to create diverse and inclusive spaces and support women throughout their journeys. We all have a responsibility to show up, educate, mentor, use our platforms, collaborate, connect, and invest. I encourage all of you to insist on being inclusive by design and diverse by demand. Lead with intent in the Web3 ecosystem. I couldn’t be more excited about our future in this dynamic space. Before I close, I wanted to share a quick video.
Transition (Sandy): Dani thank you for your powerful words, the potential of technology and how innovative it can be in the work that we do, how we move as consumers, and more. Thank you for your impactful keynote to remind us of all of the important work we have focused on to ensure we are changing the narrative and be more inclusive as we move forward.
And now, we move to discover insights from an extraordinary group of women in the panel “Panel: Unlocking Web3: Bridging Barriers in Education & Tech” led by moderator Diana Morales also known as Belle NFTs. The mic is yours Diana!
Thank you Sandy. Welcome everyone to our panel discussion on 'Unlocking Web3: Bridging Barriers in Education and Tech.' I’m Diana Morales, aka Belle NFTs, cofounder of MiniWhales and X Spaces host of IYKYK and IP is Dead for NFT Now. Today, we have three exceptional women who are at the forefront of innovation, law, and education in Web3. I’m excited to dive into their insights on how this Web3 can transform education and create a more inclusive future. Before we dive in–ladies, please briefly introduce yourselves to our beautiful audience.
Tove Andersson, Crypto Entrepreneur, Educator & Community Builder, KryptoGäris
Wendy López, LATAM Growth Manager at Xverse and Bilingual Content Creator and Co-Host of Los Ordinals and founder of the first Crypto Bazar in Mexico.
Lucia Iturriaga, Web 3 Legal Strategist, Creazioni & The Web3 Law Lab
Perfect, thank you for the introductions. Let’s dive in.
For group:
Tove Andersson: I come from a family of teachers in Sweden, where education is free, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful access to learning is. With Web3, we can bring Swedish style access to education globally. Blockchain enables us to build our own systems, decentralizing power where gatekeepers once controlled access. removing traditional gatekeepers like universities, offering on-chain certificates for microlearning—allowing people to get certified for skills learned through experience or the free internet—and incentivizes learning with gamified token rewards. In combination with AI I think blockchain will do to education what the internet did to information and I'm super excited for that.
Lucia Iturriaga: From my perspective, the innovative technology defining the Web 3 environment is driving significant changes in traditional educational models. Technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, the so-called metaverse, and big data are enhancing the efficiency of knowledge acquisition, particularly in an exponential manner. Web 3 technology facilitates education through the creation of personalized and interactive experiences. Furthermore, what is most compelling is that this form of learning allows for the sharing of knowledge through content creation. You are no longer merely a learner; you become a mentor, with the added opportunity to receive monetary rewards in return.
Wendy Lopez (@wenlopezn): As an educator with a Master’s in Education from one of the top universities in Latin America, I see how academia lags while Web3 accelerates change. Web3 breaks down geographical barriers and fosters true parity, allowing people to educate themselves and enter new global industries with minimal competition. It challenges traditional notions of where and how knowledge is created, opening doors for talent to thrive globally. This is not just a technological shift but a rethinking of education, where anyone can access opportunities and contribute meaningfully.
Tove Andersson: A key challenge we face is that this technology can feel intimidating and hard to understand. My friends and I, after years in crypto, realized the best way to onboard and teach people is by making it fun.
That’s how we came up with Bitchcoin. We’re reclaiming the word "bitch" to mean a female dog and using memes and storytelling to make crypto approachable. This is Satoshis puppy, always ready for the moon in her space helmet. We're creating a hands-on learning experience, building community, and releasing our own cryptocurrency this fall, which we’ll distribute to women in crypto communities for free before launch. We invite all female communities to join us!
And it's working. People are talking about it. Yesterday, someone even stopped their car to ask where to buy the t-shirt. If we succeed in onboarding more people, they'll be empowered to build these systems and remove the gatekeepers of power and redistribute wealth and power from the few to the many.
Lucia Iturriaga: As with all technology, the first requirement for engaging with Web 3 is an internet connection, which is still lacking in many parts of the world. Therefore, the initial step is to ensure universal access to the internet. The next challenge is undoubtedly the limited understanding of the technology surrounding Web 3, starting with how blockchain—the central technology—functions and how it can empower us to own our information and data. Lastly, another challenge, particularly within established formal education systems, is incorporating technology-focused topics into curricula from an early age.
Wendy Lopez (@wenlopezn): The most straightforward yet often overlooked barrier is language. We must consider populations that don’t speak English and provide not only educational tools, like classes, but also technological solutions, such as AI, that help them access knowledge.
Another significant challenge is creating inclusive spaces where people with limited access can actively participate. These spaces should allow them to experiment with code, engage with communities, explore art, and interact with technology. Only by addressing these barriers can we ensure that Web3 truly benefits everyone, regardless of their background or resources
Tove Andersson: Tove, as the founder of the largest network for women in crypto in Scandinavia, you've empowered thousands of women to engage with blockchain technology. What drives your passion for bringing more women into the crypto space, and how do you see their increased participation shaping the future of the industry?
Answer: My passion lies in that I believe crypto is the future of finance, and I do not want women to be left out of the conversation as this revolutionary technology takes shape over the next decade. This is a pivotal, short window of time that will reshape the financial world for generations. If women are at the table, we have a voice in how this future evolves, and that’s incredibly powerful. But if we’re not there, we risk losing the rights and progress that generations of women before us fought so hard to achieve. It’s essential we don’t let that happen.
Lucia Iturriaga: Lucia, with your legal expertise in blockchain and intellectual property, what are the legal challenges that educational institutions and innovators need to be aware of and how do you see legal frameworks adapting to support the growth of Web3 in education?
Answer: For those beginning their studies in law, it is essential to understand how Web 3 technology operates, especially given its constant evolution. To achieve this, it should be included in any undergraduate law program through courses focused on the subject. For instance, blockchain is understood as a technological solution for data and information storage, initially conceived without consideration of legal implications, which presents various legal challenges when implemented in any activity. If the true advantages of laws are to provide legal certainty to individuals or entities, the greatest challenge for us as lawyers is to apply existing regulations to this novel technological solution, which lacks specific jurisdiction. Thus, blockchain can be categorized from a general perspective within what is known as digital law, and various legal dimensions emerge to effectively implement its diverse utilities. These include understanding concepts such as encryption, consensus protocols and algorithms, smart contracts, cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens, decentralized autonomous organizations, asset tokenization, and other emerging applications
Wendy Lopez (@wenlopezn): Wendy, your work in LATAM, particularly through Xverse and Los Ordinales, focuses on decentralizing knowledge. How are you using content creation and community-building to bring Web3 education to Latin America?
Answer: Knowledge is power, as Francis Bacon once said, but it is even more powerful when it is accessible to everyone. Decentralizing knowledge goes beyond simply sharing information—it means empowering people in their own languages and cultural contexts. By creating localized content, I’m helping to democratize access to the transformative potential of Web3. As philosopher Simone de Beauvoir emphasized, true freedom comes when we can transcend boundaries that limit us. In my work, I aim to break down these boundaries, ensuring that knowledge, particularly knowledge that can directly impact people’s lives, is available and relevant to communities across Latin America.
Group: Looking ahead, where do you see Web3 and education intersecting in the next five years? What are you most excited about as we move toward this future?
Tove Andersson: In the next five years, I see Web3 transforming education in combination with AI, by removing gatekeepers and making it more accessible, swedish style.
What excites me personally the most is the potential to gamify learning. With Bitchcoin, we want to build a hands-on, fun experience where people can earn tokens as they learn and teach one another for example.
Lucia Iturriaga: As a legal professional, what excites me most is witnessing the radical change we must undergo to relearn what we already know. The role of the lawyer has evolved. We are no longer needed merely to draft contracts or summarize laws; artificial intelligence and deep learning now handle these tasks. Our function will shift towards genuinely crafting strategies that contribute to the implementation of technology. While this transformation may not occur in most Latin American countries within the next five years, it will take place in some years. Therefore, let us take advantage of this opportunity from now on.
Wendy Lopez (@wenlopezn):
In the next five years, I see Web3 and education intersecting in ways that truly democratize learning and access to opportunities. I envision technology being the catalyst for solving many of the problems we face today, from bridging the digital divide to providing tools that make education more accessible to non-English speaking communities. As the industry matures, I’m excited to witness lives being transformed by these advancements—people who, thanks to Web3, can access new careers, learn new skills, and solve real-world challenges through a global, decentralized approach. The potential to empower individuals who have been traditionally marginalized is what excites me most as we move toward this future
Thank you to our wonderful panelists for their perspectives.

We emphasize the SDGs, co-creation, and circularity principles to help transform the fashion industry into a more ethical and sustainable sector.
Shreya Bhan:
Hi Everyone! It’s such a pleasure to be here. I've been in the fashion industry for 13 years, and I'm thrilled to discuss something that has transformed my perspective on the industry: blockchain technology.
Blockchain has democratized the art and fashion world, breaking down traditional gatekeeping. Now, smaller players are as vital as heritage brands, fostering inclusivity. Blockchain-enabled digital ownership through NFTs empowers artists and designers to monetize their work uniquely, creating a new digital economy that rewards creativity and innovation.
Additionally, blockchain ensures transparency and traceability, addressing issues like counterfeit goods and unethical practices. Imagine a world where every garment's journey, from raw material to final product, is documented and verifiable, fostering trust and sustainability.
Ultimately, blockchain will democratize access and participation in these industries, making them more inclusive and equitable. This technology is a massive disruptor and exactly what the industry needs right now.
Diana Cañas:
In the next five years, consumers will become more familiar with blockchain technology as a tool that provides transparency in the supply chain and easily validates the authenticity of fashion items. For example, not all customers can buy a Nike canvas from an official Nike store, especially since Nike's physical stores aren't located in every country.
How do people in these regions get assurance that they are purchasing original Nike products? The answer is blockchain. Counterfeits can be detected more easily as blockchain allows for quick verification that the items being bought are certified by Nike.I foresee a future where blockchain, through NFTs, will enhance real-world ownership with digital experiences. Luxury brands could prioritize these experiences to boost customer engagement, organically learning more about consumer behavior. Additionally, blockchain could simplify luxury collaborations and create reward systems for loyal fans. Even a small incentive for the brand could become a fortune for the community, fostering deeper connections.
Rainbow:
I’m so happy to be here, United Nations!
Alright, let me put it simply. Blockchain is shaking up the art world, and in the next 5-10 years, it’s going to be all about control—artists like me having more say in how our work is shared and sold.
Here’s how I see it: I create a digital piece, turn it into an NFT, and depending on the platform, I can keep earning every time my art changes hands. What really matters is the blockchain gives me something super important—proof. Proof that it’s a Rainbow Mosho original, no matter where it goes.
Plus, the blockchain aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by promoting transparency and supporting responsible consumption and contributing to a more sustainable art world.
So, what is the future of art? It’s all about artists having more power and freedom. Blockchain is a new way to create, sell, and own art, and I’m excited to be a part of that!
Ambriel Pouncy:
As we look forward to the next decade, I'm excited about preparing in Web3 for the transformative potential of Web4 technologies. This shift will enhance decentralization, giving us greater control over our personal data and improving automation. I anticipate advancements in on-chain interoperability that will encourage more collaboration among creators.
One major development will stem from the EU's proposed regulations, particularly in the apparel and art sectors, where on-chain digital product passports with NFC chips or QR code will seamlessly verify garment authenticity. This will increase ethical sourcing and transparency and help to accelerate the creator to consumer ecosystem.
We will see advanced personalization through VR/AR integration. Robust zero-party data automation will be executed through advanced multimodal AI modeling. Blockchain will support virtual try-ons historic data collection, and will also help to ensure the authenticity of goods in the secondary luxury market, reducing return rates across all sectors, and boosting consumer trust in secondhand purchases.
In the art world, blockchain will redefine digital ownership, allowing artists to maintain control and ensure authenticity, while facilitating 'phygital' artworks that tell deeper stories and engage wider audiences. The traditional divide between the artists and their audience will continue to narrow, fostering stronger connections and more opportunities for collaboration.
The phygital art marketplace will evolve, with fractional and secondary markets enhancing accessibility and ensuring fair royalties through smart contract execution. Digital art screens will become commonplace, blending art, music, and technology in innovative ways.
Creators will easily build on-chain in developed economies, benefiting from robust infrastructure that protects their rights and ensures fair compensation. This progress will lead to a more circular, equitable, and human-centered economy, aligning with the global Sustainable Development Goals.
Shreya Bhan:
Navigating the intersection of fashion, art, and Web3 has been both exhilarating and challenging. One major hurdle is educating stakeholders about blockchain's benefits while continuously evolving and learning ourselves. There's a steep learning curve in understanding how this technology enhances transparency and sustainability.
Integrating traditional fashion practices with cutting-edge tech requires balancing innovation with practicality. While new tools allow designers to explore creativity beyond traditional materials, practical considerations are essential to connect the tangible and intangible. Convincing artists and brands to adopt new methods without compromising creative freedom can be tricky.
Adding to this, there’s a need for ongoing dialogue between artists and tech experts to foster collaboration. This interaction can lead to innovative solutions that respect both creative vision and practical application. Furthermore, creating scalable and user-friendly blockchain platforms that align with sustainability goals will be key to widespread adoption.
Additionally, ensuring blockchain implementations are environmentally friendly is crucial given the fashion industry's sustainability concerns. Despite these challenges, the potential for positive change keeps me motivated.
Diana Cañas:
One of the most significant challenges I’ve encountered while working at the intersection of fashion, art, and Web3 has been building the right team in each of the areas required to develop a blockchain project. This field is highly specialized and requires deep knowledge of blockchain technology, digital development, artistic creativity, and a strong understanding of the fashion industry.Finding people who not only have the right technical skills but also understand and share the vision of combining fashion, art, and technology in a Web3 ecosystem is a complex process. Additionally, aligning a diverse team with different specializations toward a common goal requires clear communication, constant coordination, and effective leadership. However, I’ve learned that once you bring together a team with the right skills and enthusiasm, the potential for innovation and creativity is enormous.
Rainbow:
We know that life comes with challenges. And working at the intersection of art and Web3, my biggest challenge has been marketing. It’s not just about standing out—it’s also about normalizing my presence as an artist on the autism spectrum and showing that I truly belong in every space.
One key issue is keeping my audience engaged and excited about my projects. To tackle this over the next 24 months, I’ll leverage opportunities like collaborations with speakers from UNGA79 to share my unique perspective and simplify Web3 concepts.
In addition, I’ll share my experiences and the impact of Web3 on my art, and when all of you also share my content, I’ll keep my growing audience involved and eager to support my projects.
Combining impactful speaking engagements and book readings with smart marketing strategies, I’m ready to overcome these challenges and make a meaningful impact in the art and Web3 world!
Ambriel Pouncy:
In my travels and work, I've observed both the challenges and opportunities presented by Web3 integration. Three key areas for improvement stand out: education, accessibility, and collaboration.
First, many artists and designers lack a clear understanding of blockchain and Web3 enabled technologies, which hinders their ability to utilize these tools effectively. This highlights the need for comprehensive training and upskilling programs for educators, enabling them to better guide their students in navigating these new technologies.
Second, enhancing digital accessibility is crucial, especially for individuals and creators with disabilities and the estimated 2.6 billion people worldwide who lack access to the internet. Ensuring that Web3 platforms are inclusive and user-friendly remains a significant challenge that demands innovative approaches, regulations, and resources.
Finally, fostering collaboration among stakeholders is vital. For example, in the fashion supply chain, blockchain technology can facilitate transparent and efficient communication among manufacturers, designers, retailers, and consumers. By using a shared blockchain ledger, all parties can track a product’s journey from cradle to cradle , ensuring ethical sourcing and authenticity, increasing circularity through the entire apparel ecosystem. This collaborative approach not only enhances trust but also streamlines processes, making it easier to address issues such as sustainability and ethical labor practices.
Thank you! At Brushbound, I am passionate about blending creativity with technology to drive positive change. We are building a platform that allows artists and brands to co-create, ensuring every piece is a collaborative effort that reflects diverse perspectives of the community. Our use of blockchain technology guarantees transparency, making it easier to track the ethical sourcing of materials and work with factories with fair labor practices. This ensures that our collections are not only beautiful but also sustainable.
By empowering artists with tools and providing resources, we’re fostering a community that values innovation and ethical production. This approach helps us bridge the gaps in the traditional fashion industry, making it more inclusive and responsible. We aim to scale this initiative, leveraging technology to make fashion more transparent, fair, and connected, creating a new standard for the industry.
Digital wearables in Web3 are not just about aesthetics; they're about identity and functionality merging to create a more immersive and personalized digital experience. As we navigate through virtual spaces and interactive platforms, wearables become a tool for users to express their unique styles and affiliations. This aspect of digital identity is crucial as it allows for a level of customization and expression that transcends traditional fashion boundaries. In the future, I see digital wearables influencing fashion by introducing a new layer of interactivity and utility. Whether it's through smart fabrics in the real world or augmented reality overlays, these innovations will enable wearables to adapt to different environments and social contexts within the metaverse, making them integral to our digital lives. This will not only change how we perceive fashion but also how we interact with each other and digital content, making our virtual interactions as nuanced as those in the real world.
Answer: I'll respond with 4 points and a call to action!
1st. Bridging the Digital Literacy Gap: Through my book Rogue Girls Rule 2nd Edition, I’m addressing the digital literacy gap among teens by making Web3 accessible and exciting. My own experiences as an artist on the autism spectrum have fueled my commitment to creating a space where everyone—especially those who feel excluded—can thrive.
2nd. Empowering Artists with Blockchain Technology: Blockchain is all about control and transparency. It ensures that creators, like me, can protect the authenticity of our work and maintain control over how it’s shared. This aligns perfectly with my goal of giving teens the tools to navigate the digital world confidently.
3rd. Aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals: My project emphasizes eco-friendly practices and transparency, supporting the UN’s goals of responsible consumption and production. By advocating for blockchain transparency, I aim to build a more inclusive and sustainable future for both the art and Web3 worlds.
4th. Promoting Inclusivity through Digital Spaces: Breaking barriers means making sure everyone, regardless of their background or abilities, can engage in and benefit from the digital space. With my book Rogue Girls Rule 2nd Edition, I’m committed to ensuring inclusivity remains at the forefront of our digital evolution.
And... My Call to Action: UNGA79 will be even more successful when we work together. I invite all of you to email and include me, Rainbow Mosho, in your projects and join me in living more sustainably. Let’s create a future where inclusivity, sustainability, and digital literacy thrive hand in hand! Long live the United Nations!
Answer:
It’s time to change clothes. I am passionate about leveraging Web3 technologies to do more than just advance the fashion industry economically. As an industry, we have used data to do that for a very long time. I envision a future where these tools help foster a fashion industry that’s as responsible as it is creative, influencing broader societal norms and encouraging a shift towards greater accountability, timeless style, and ethical practices across the board. We have a unique opportunity to intersect technology, sustainability, and education to truly transform the future of the fashion industry. It’s important to me that we take the opportunity to help our young sustainability minded creators understand the vastness of the opportunity they have in Web3 to use these technologies to reshape their world.
Fashion is a devastating contributor to the textile waste crisis, modern slavery, and the depletion of our natural resources. The Fusion Fashion Tech Society, is dedicated to empowering a new generation of diverse, sustainability-minded fashion innovators through mentorship and programming such as our summit to help them understand the importance of responsible unconsumption for the betterment of our world. The hope is through our framework they will seek apparel industry roles one day at organizations that champion responsibility, creativity, and ethical practices.
The hosting venue at FIT and the alignment with Climate Week and the 79th U.N. General Assembly for the summit, places us at the heart of global sustainability conversations. We focus on three core areas: Slow Fashion Innovation, Inclusive Tech Empowerment, and Human-Centric Design, which directly supports key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
With initiatives like the Fusion Fashion Tech Summit, we're setting the stage to catalyze change and inspire action, demonstrating that fashion can be a formidable ally in the global push towards sustainability. This is a critical time for fashion to lead by example. It’s imperative that our experts and professionals also lead our youth by example on what it means to make a positive impact on our people and our planet. I believe that Fusion changes clothes and that Fusion changes our world. 🌍
Transition (Wildy): and now we have Shana Douglas to touch on the importance of diversity in her Inclusivity Unchained: Paving the Way in Web3 segment.
Speech: Hello, my name is Shana. I’m the co-founder of NFTCLT, a technology education, consulting, and production company. I am honored to be speaking with you on the topic of inclusivity in web3 - important to the foundation of NFTCLT - which started as a NFT meetup in the city of Charlotte, and blossomed to a crypto cultural movement meeting people where they are to talk all things blockchain coast to coast.
Today, I want to talk about how we can change the narrative in a world of crypto bros and meme coins to make Web3 a truly inclusive and SAFE space that empowers marginalized communities and contributes to achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
Picture this: It’s a sunny summer day in West Oakland. A group of young people are gathered in small circles, engaged in animated discussions. There are no computers or cellphones in sight, yet the air is buzzing with talk of blockchain, digital ownership, and Web3. These kids, many of whom have limited access to technology at home, are reimagining their world through the lens of decentralized systems.
In one corner, a team is designing an interoperable girl’s only metaverse marketplace, incorporating ideas of digital identity and reputation systems to keep the metaverse safe. Another group is crafting their own comic book, using tokenization concepts to raise production capital and manage profit splits with the team.
This scene from our Y3K summer camp isn't just a feel-good story. It's a glimpse into a future where the knowledge of digital systems transcends access to hardware - a future where a kid from West Oakland can critically think and innovate in the digital economy just as effectively as a kid from Silicon Valley.
But here's a stark reality check: despite the promise of a decentralized, open internet, the Web3 space is at risk of replicating the same inequalities we see in traditional tech. A recent article from Forbes found that just 16% of NFT artists are women, and even fewer are people of color.
My journey in promoting diversity and inclusion in tech began long before Web3 was a buzzword. In high school, I served on the board of the Society of Women Engineers. In college, I led the National Society of Black Engineers. And throughout my professional career building consumer electronics all across the world, I've worked to create more inclusive spaces, employee resources groups, and diverse talent pipelines. Yet continually found myself frustrated at the pace of progress within these large, established organizations.
In 2019, when I learned about NFTs, I had an "aha" moment. I saw the potential for blockchain to democratize access to capital, empower creators, and build global communities that transcend traditional borders.
However, as I attended blockchain conferences and engaged with Web3 communities, I noticed the same troubling patterns I’d experienced in my professional environments. Information was often gate kept - this time via tokens, and many projects failed to capture the culture and needs of Black and Brown communities. It became clear that if we wanted true inclusivity in this space, we needed to build our own table.
That's why we've been working on initiatives that bring Web3 concepts directly to underserved and traditionally marginalized communities, focusing on the fundamental ideas rather than getting caught up in the technical details that can discourage people from learning more.
We're not just teaching people how to use wallets or mint NFTs; we're bringing awareness to the principles of self governance, digital ownership, data sovereignty, and how emerging technologies can be leveraged to benefit communities. These are critical conversations that begin to shift the mindset of disenfranchised people across the globe.
Let me share two powerful examples:
NFTCLT had the honor to advise Ja Rule and House of First, on the "Black is Beautiful" NFT project. This wasn't just another collection of digital art. It was a celebration of culturally defining moments and figures in the Black community. And we went beyond just archiving beautiful art. We ensured that 10% of the proceeds went to select Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This project exemplifies how Web3 can be used to preserve culture, support education, and create economic opportunities simultaneously.
This summer, we partnered with Marshawn Lynch's Fam1st Foundation to run a Web3 summer camp in the heart of West Oakland. This wasn't your typical tech camp. We focused on preparing the next generation with a mindset to think like creators and bosses, equipping them with skill sets and tools to succeed in the digital economy.
These projects, along with initiatives like our Y3K College Tour and Another Awesome Day non-profit, are all designed to provide free or low cost supplemental education at existing community hubs and institutions. Through culturally competent connections and engaging programming with the leaders and builders of web3 we can rebuild trust and safely onboard our communities.
This type or work aligns directly with several UN Sustainable Development Goals:
But let me be clear: technology alone is not the solution. True inclusivity depends on tech equity – ensuring that technology serves the people, not the other way around. We must be vigilant in our development and implementation of blockchain solutions, ensuring they solve real problems rather than recreating existing inequalities in a new digital format.
This is where initiatives like the Catawba Digital Economic Zone, come into play. CDEZ is a special economic zone in indigenous and sovereign nation of Catawba between North Carolina and South Carolina. By providing federally recognized legal entities like DAO LLC’s, clear regulatory guidelines and affordable e-residency options, we're creating environments where digital asset-backed businesses can thrive, particularly for those who have been historically excluded or taken advantage of by traditional financial systems and government entities.
As we move forward, I call on all of you – technologists, policymakers, educators, and community leaders – to join us in this mission. Explore the potential of Web3 technologies. Engage with and support initiatives that bring these tools to marginalized communities. The future of the internet is being built now. Let's ensure it's a future that celebrates diversity, supports sustainability and is equitable for all. Thank you.

Speakers:
Liseli Akayombokwa, Multifaceted Creative, Web3 Music Artist and Co-Founder of ETHZambezi
Mulenga Kapwepwe, Web3 Strategist, EthZambezi
Mulenga:
My name is Mulenga Kapwepwe, a Zambian cultural activist, author, and entrepreneur. I was an Ethereum Next Billion Fellow 2023 which paved the way for the Summit Share project. Additionally, I have dedicated my life to preserving and promoting Zambian culture. As the co-founder of the Women’s History Museum of Zambia and ETHZambezi, I have been at the forefront of initiatives that not only safeguard our cultural heritage but also empower communities to benefit from it in the digital age.
Main Discussion Points:
1. The Importance of Cultural Preservation in the Digital Age:
Cultural preservation is crucial in maintaining our identity, history, and traditions, especially as we move deeper into the digital era. Through digital tools, we can ensure that future generations have access to our rich cultural heritage.
2. Tokenization of Zambian Cultural Artifacts:
One of the major projects I have led is the tokenization of cultural artifacts from the Gwembe Valley through Summit Share. These artifacts, many of which are currently spread throughout Europe, particularly in Sweden, are being digitized and represented on the blockchain. This initiative not only preserves these cultural items but also enables the Gwembe community to benefit from their heritage.
3. Women’s History Museum of Zambia and Kasaka Women’s Educational Workshops:
As co-founder of the Women’s History Museum of Zambia, I have also focused on empowering Zambian women through the Kasaka Women’s Educational Workshops. These workshops educate women on topics such as AI, blockchain, and other emerging technologies, as well as other creative fields. The goal is to equip women with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age.
4. Onboarding Zambian Artists and Developers into the Web3 Space:
Through ETHZambezi, our main focus is on Ethereum education and community building. I have overseen the onboarding of Zambian artists and developers into the Web3 space. This includes organizing educational workshops and providing resources to help them navigate and succeed in this new digital environment.
Expanded Focus on Summit Share:
With Summit Share, my focus has been on the tokenization of cultural artifacts from the
Gwembe Valley. These artifacts, scattered across Europe, hold immense cultural and historical value. However, the communities from which they originate have rarely, if ever, benefited from their existence in foreign collections. Through blockchain technology, we are creating digital tokens that represent these artifacts. This process not only secures the provenance and ownership of these items but also provides a new economic model that benefits the Gwembe community. By tokenizing these artifacts, we ensure that the community has a stake in any transactions or exhibitions involving their heritage, enabling them to profit from what is rightfully theirs.
Call to Action:
As we continue to navigate the digital age, it is vital that we all play a role in preserving our cultural heritage. I invite you to engage with our work, whether by exploring the Women’s History Museum online at https://www.whmzambia.org/ supporting and participating in the Kasaka Women’s Educational Workshops, or supporting the community initiatives of ETHZambezi @ethzambezi on X, Together, we can ensure that our rich cultural heritage is not only preserved but also celebrated and shared with the world in ways that benefit our communities

Transition (Sandy): Next, I have the honor bringing up Melina Giubilaro, Content Creator for the engaging platform, Girl in the Verse
Speech:
Hello everyone, my name is Melina Giubilaro. I’ve been a content creator for over 10 years, and I am the face behind the Girl In The Verse brand, a platform designed to help women understand crypto and blockchain technology. My journey into the world of cryptocurrency is one that I believe many women can relate to.
Initially, I ignored cryptocurrency. My then-boyfriend (now husband) would talk about it, but I didn’t pay attention. I didn’t think it would impact me or that, as a woman, I could have a say in shaping the metaverse.
Everything changed when I discovered Non-Fungible Tokens, or NFTs. I realized I could own a digital image and its IP rights, with my ownership proven on the blockchain. This was revolutionary, especially in a world where social media platforms still struggle with bots and copycats. NFTs don’t just shape my identity—though my Women and Weapons NFT does look a lot like me!
NFTs actually connect people into communities. Owning an NFT is like affiliating with a brand and finding your tribe. These tokens can even serve as access passes to digital and physical spaces where holders can connect, collaborate, and dream up big ideas. Today, my personal brand is recognized everywhere—and it’s an NFT. One out of 10,000.
But the importance of blockchain goes beyond the technology itself—it's about breaking down barriers. As a woman in crypto, I’ve often found it awkward and challenging to navigate a space that, like many financial markets, started out predominantly male and white.
Yet, despite this more than one-third of global cryptocurrency owners are women. This shows that the interest is there, even though crypto remains a male-dominated space.
Not too long ago, women in the U.S. needed a male co-signer to open checking accounts. That only changed in the 1960s and 1970s. In some countries, it took even longer.
Blockchain, like Bitcoin, is transforming those outdated systems. It’s the new internet, where we control our own data and assets.
This led me to Bitcoin and the concept of financial freedom. As a young girl growing up in Canada with immigrant parents, the women in my family didn’t teach me about investing because “that’s not for women”. In fact, I wasn’t even given the option to believe that I could invest.
Bitcoin is more than just digital gold. It’s the freedom to transact anywhere in the world. It’s the idea that anyone—regardless of gender, age, or education—can own Bitcoin, without needing a bank or corporation to give permission.
That’s where Girl In The Verse comes in. Through my video content, I make crypto fun and relatable, showing women that learning about crypto can actually be cool. I’ve taught countless women how to buy Bitcoin safely, and I show up to support them, making sure they feel seen and heard. I remind them that I too started with no idea where to begin—and if I can learn, they can too.
I want every woman to feel like they can be a 'Girl in the Verse,' confidently navigating this new technology and finding her place in it. BECAUSE THERE IS ROOM FOR HER.
Wealth still equals power in today’s world. If we want to see more women in powerful positions, we need to help each other build wealth and reinvest it in growing women-led businesses.
It’s simple—empower women, hire them, and give them the capital they need. We're in one of the biggest wealth-creation cycles of our time, and women can't afford to miss out.
Thank you.
Melina Giubilaro
Girl In The Verse
@girlintheverse
Transition (Sandy) : Thank you, Melina Giubilaro for your insights, all truly valuable! Now the blockchain offers us so many opportunities to add value and the importance to be seen and heard, especially in the blockchain. As leaders, we do our best to do just that. Next we have the “Creative Trailblazers of Web3: Women Leading the Charge” panel led by Marisa (Ritzy) Estrada
Moderator: Marisa (Ritzy) Estrada Rivera aka Ritzy P @ritzy_p
Speakers: Jenifer Pepen Aquino, Amaranta Martínez, Sol “Siete” Falco
Thank you Sandy. I’m Marisa Estrada Rivera aka Ritzy P. founder of Ritzy Periwinkle, partner of Hola Metaverso. Today, we’ll explore how these incredible women are shaping the future of Web3 through their work in art, music, and technology. Each panelist brings a unique perspective on how Web3 is fostering creativity, innovation, and inclusivity. Before we dive in, I’d like to invite each of them to introduce themselves briefly. Let’s start with Jenifer
60 Sec or less intros
JENIFER: “Hi, I’m Jenifer Pepen Aquino, also known as SirenAi. I am an AI and multi-medium artist. Themes you will find in my art include spirituality, mythology, and my experiences as a Latina woman. I am a first generation Dominican American raised in Queens NYC and I have a background in several fields including science and tech, history, community organizing, as well as design and marketing. I co-founded One Love Art DAO, a vibrant community of 300 artists using Web3 to empower and support each other. I’ve curated exhibitions for hundreds of artists worldwide and, as a Web3 Advisor and Educator, I help creatives and entrepreneurs navigate this ever expanding world.
SOL: I'm a web3 musician, pioneer in my country, I founded the first web3 record label in latam. Now co-founder of MusicaW3, community of web3 independent musicians in latin america. I'm a web3 music mentor, teaching other musicians about blockchain technology since 2021. My mission is to change the music industry through technology and make it more fair for independent musicians of low ressources. I wanna make the talent of my people SHINE.
Amaranta SUPERAMA: “Hi, my name is Amaranta Martinez. I’m based in Miami, but I’m originally from Venezuela. I’m a muralist, a creative director, and a digital artist. I collaborate with major brands around the world to enhance their identity through my vision. As a digital artist, I create augmented reality art that has been showcased internationally and is available across various blockchains. My work blends traditional art techniques with the cutting-edge innovations of Web3. Thank you for having me, I’m so excited to be here.”
General Questions for each of them to answer
Web3 is often described as a space of immense potential and disruption. What inspired each of you to become trailblazers in this evolving landscape, and how do you define your role within it?
Jenifer: I was inspired to play a role in the Web 3 space when I realized that I could combine my passion for art, technology and community together in a meaningful and impactful way. I entered the space initially as a collector and was amazed by how Web3 transformed how we experience and display art. This experience then led me to fully embrace my creativity as an artist. As SirenAi, I now create visual art with cutting-edge AI and digital tools.
A pivotal moment for me was helping to create One Love Art DAO. One Love Art DAO is a non-token gated community that welcomes artists from all over the world. We currently have 300 + international artists of all ages, ethnicities, disciplines and experience levels. The DAO was created by artists for artists and aims to empower the collective through knowledge sharing, exhibition opportunities, public speaking, networking, as well as in-person and online events at absolutely no cost to its members.
In my roles as artist, curator, educator, and advisor, Web3 has given me the tools to guide artists, organize engaging exhibitions, and connect with large audiences . My goal is to continue to build bridges between the traditional and digital art worlds and contribute to a dynamic space where creativity and technology come together.
SOL: What inspired me to dive into Web3 was the vast range of possibilities that decentralization could bring to my career in terms of freedom. Above all, it meant freeing myself from the need to sign with a label to make a living from music, or, if I chose to stay independent, not depend on intermediaries who take a cut of my earnings. I felt like I could finally move away from uploading my songs to Spotify, which was never going to give me the sustainability I needed as a professional musician.
Now, I've stepped back a bit from my own music career to help other artists like me enter this incredible and more equitable ecosystem. I'm particularly focused on empowering Latina women to grow in their professional lives by implementing Web3 and decentralization to their careers.
Amaranta SUPERAMA: “What inspired me to dive into the Web3 space was a mix of curiosity and my love for art and technology. I’ve always been fascinated by how these two worlds can come together, and Web3 felt like the perfect moment to blend my passions. It’s like finding the ultimate playground where art meets cutting-edge tech.
One of the biggest perks of Web3 has been the chance to connect directly with people who collect my wor… something I never experienced in Web2. In this evolving space, I see myself as a connector, bringing traditional art and digital innovation together in exciting ways. Now I see my role as an artist that is all about exploring new frontiers, collaborating with like-minded women, and creating experiences that push the boundaries of what’s possible. I’m thrilled to be part of this adventure and can’t wait to see where it takes us!”
Community is a cornerstone of Web3. How have collaborations within the Web3 space empowered your work, and how do you see this evolving in the future?
Jenifer: Collaborations within the Web3 space have been pivotal for my community centered work. By partnering with diverse artists, technologists, and communities, we've created a rich ecosystem that fuels innovation and expands our reach.
One Love Art DAO has facilitated numerous cross-cultural dialogues and exchanges through hundreds of community centric conversations on platforms such as X. These conversations directly led to collaborative projects with partners that would have been difficult to achieve outside of Web 3. There is strength in numbers and collaborations in Web 3 are a win for everyone.
Looking ahead, I see this collaborative spirit evolving with even more integrated and dynamic partnerships. I anticipate more seamless interactions between artists, creators, and audiences across various platforms. This will not only enhance creative possibilities but also strengthen community ties and drive collective growth not only in the art world but in the world as a whole because what we do in Web 3 has ripple effects everywhere.
SOL: Collaborations were fundamental to my growth and understanding of the ecosystem. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am today. What I always tell my students is: don’t try to sell your first digital copies of your songs alone. Do it in collaboration with other artists in the ecosystem first, so you can get guidance on the process and learn the technical aspects you might be missing along the way. Whether it's with other Web3 musicians or visual artists who have already sold their work or are familiar with certain platforms that you haven’t explored yet—network effects are everything. We like to say that thanks to network effects, we all grow together as a community of creators. We never know what the future holds thanks to our peers.
Amaranta SUPERAMA: “I love this question because, without my community of Women of Web3, I wouldn’t be here. Community has been life-changing in my Web3 journey. My entry into this space began through Web3 Equity, a women’s community here in Miami. Through the connections I made there, I participated in Bitbasel’s open call in collaboration with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, where I chose Goal #5 Gender Equality, and won. This led to my work being exhibited at Miami Art Basel, the most important Art Week of the year here in Miami, and eventually included in the Lunaprise Museum on the Moon, YES my art is on the MOON, where I was the only Venezuelan artist and 1 of the few Latinas. What else can I say, I’m here today speaking on this amazing panel! So the support from these communities has been fundamental to my growth as an artist.”
Individual Questions for each panelist
FOR Jenifer: As a co-founder of One Love Art DAO, How has Web3 enabled you to bridge cultural and geographical divides in the art world?
Jenifer: As a co-founder of One Love Art DAO, I’ve witnessed firsthand how Web3 bridges cultural and geographical divides in the art world.
Our Discord platform centralizes proposals, voting, and information sharing, enabling members to access open calls, and educational opportunities. Artists can instantly join live video chats to collaborate on projects.
We ensure transparency with contribution wallets on multiple blockchains. Our X chats and Drip Haus channel further extend our reach, with Drip Haus featuring a weekly artist and directing 75% of proceeds from their art drop to them. We also host digital art exhibitions and metaverse events, connecting artists from diverse backgrounds in virtual and real-world spaces. As we expand as one DAO, into new marketplaces and galleries, these Web3 tools and events create a truly inclusive and interconnected art community, impacting both individual artists and the broader art and tech landscape
FOR Sol: - Music and Web3 are an exciting combination. How has blockchain technology and decentralized platforms changed the way you produce, distribute, or monetize your music?
SOL: My life, and also my career, completely transformed once I started using blockchain. I was able to fund my productions through the sale of digital collectibles, and I built a community of real fans who love what I do, instead of just accumulating followers and likes. Web3 adds purpose to a career, not stardom or the dream of fame. It brings life and depth to the connection between fans and musicians. Since blockchain is decentralized, it gives me a new level of freedom in creating my work, without having to follow any "trends" when it comes to the Web3 music market. It also provides me more sovereignty—I have full control over the pieces I upload to Web3 platforms. Even if a platform disappears, my collectibles continue to exist on the blockchain, and I can still sell them independently. As a Latina, it also allows me to earn in foreign currency rather than pesos, which is a huge advantage as an Argentine songwriter given the high inflation in my country.
FOR Amaranta Superama:
As an artist working across multiple mediums, including augmented reality, how has Web3 expanded your creative possibilities?
Amaranta SUPERAMA: “As an artist working across multiple mediums, including augmented reality, Web3 has dramatically expanded my creative possibilities. It’s pushed me out of my comfort zone and opened up a whole new world of artistic exploration. I’ve done things I never thought were possible. Thanks to Web3, I’ve been able to blend traditional art with digital and interactive elements, creating experiences that I never thought were possible. The exciting aspect is that augmented reality combined with blockchain has allowed me to craft immersive art that truly engages people. Plus, the Web3 community has been fantastic, helping my work reach a global audience, and I’ve made amazing friends among my collectors. Looking ahead, I’m thrilled to see Web3 continue to drive innovation, with new tools and platforms that will blur the lines between physical and digital art, enabling us to explore even more creative frontiers. I have definitely proven to myself, that not even the sky is the limit.”
Closing Question for each panelist- Lighting round
Looking ahead, what are your hopes for the future of Web3, particularly in terms of inclusivity and creative expression?
Jenifer: Looking ahead, I hope Web3 and Web2 integrate more seamlessly, making Web3’s benefits accessible to those with limited tech access. I also hope we build stronger connections with the traditional art world, so emerging artists are seen and valued in all the spaces they choose. Additionally, I envision Web3 providing greater financial stability for artists in politically sanctioned countries, creating more opportunities for meaningful engagement and success.
SOL:If we're talking about the future of Web3 in general, I’d say it will open doors to many opportunities, especially for minorities. It's a very free space where we can be whoever we want, whenever we want. It also guarantees us sovereignty and financial freedom. In terms of the music industry, Web3 represents a new chapter. After 200 years of an archaic music industry, we’re finally going to see independent musicians take control of the new dynamics between fans and artists. Of course, this will only happen if we consciously use the tools blockchain gives us.
Amaranta SUPERAMA: When I think about the future of Web3, I honestly get so excited. It's like we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible. I imagine a world where creativity is fully unlocked, where artists like me have complete control over our work and how it’s shared, collected, and experienced. No more traditional gatekeepers, just real, direct connections with people who appreciate what we do. I see Web3 evolving into this space where art, technology, and community are all blended together seamlessly. And the best part? It’s going to be super inclusive, with diverse voices having the space to shine. Web3 feels like the ultimate creative revolution, and I’m here for it.
Gracias, ladies, for sharing your experiences. We build differently. Your insights have illuminated the exciting future and opportunities in this evolving field. Please follow and support these amazing creatives. FP.
Transition (Ritzy): I now hand it over to our special guest speaker, Carrie Lyn Henman on Unshakable Worth: Embracing Your Power. Welcome Carrie Lyn!
Speakers: Carrie Lyn Henman, also known as “Ms. NFTy” @ms_nfty
Thank you for the honor of speaking to such a powerful group of women. It’s truly inspiring to witness the incredible work you're doing in Web3.
It took a woman who dared to step OUT of the box, OUT of the known, and OUT of her safe space to light a fire for generational impact. And that woman is YOU. Each of you is pouring your unique perspective, skills and expertise into this collective pot of ideas and solutions, creating the very blueprint for Web3’s foundation. The path we’re building together will be the roadmap for millions to follow. We’re not just making history; we’re making HERstory.
Interestingly Enough: I am here to deliver a POWER: Unshakable Worth Speech, and yet yesterday morning I revisited my completed speech and as I read each sentence I over analyzed thinking to myself, does this add value? Until I went through the whole thing and just threw it in the trash. It wasn’t good enough. Which lead me spiraling into questioning myself, my value and why anyone would want to hear from someone like me?! I almost cried.
In this vulnerable moment I was presented with this, that relieved ALL of my doubts.
“THERE ARE A MILLION SMART PEOPLE IN THE WORLD, IT’S NOT THE ACCOLADES AND INTELLIGENCE ALONE, IT’S YOUR PERSPECTIVE, ENERGY AND FILTER APPLIED TO THE INDUSTRY OR TOPIC OF DISCUSSION. DO NOT DENY THEM OF WHAT THEY WANT, WHICH IS YOU.”
I SHARE THIS TO SAY: WE EACH WILL HAVE MOMENTS WHERE OUR VALUE AND WORTH MAY BE CHALLENGED NOT JUST BY THE WORLD BUT BY OUR VERY OWN SELVES. IT IS IN OUR POWER TO OWN OUR RIGHT TO BE WHERE WE ARE. TO REMEMBER YOU WERE ASKED TO BE HERE TODAY BECAUSE OF WHAT ONLY YOU CAN PROVIDE. YOU WILL BE IN THE ROOMS, ON THE STAGES AND IN THE TEAMS BECAUSE OF WHAT ONLY YOU CAN PROVIDE.
Now, let’s get into why owning our power is so important to not just us, but the rest of the world.
Web3 isn’t just reshaping industries like finance, art, and governance; it’s presenting us with a rare opportunity to diversify leadership and participation. It is a pivotal moment of technological evolution, offering us not just a seat at the table, but the power to redesign it entirely.
As we advocate for representation, we become role models, speaking at conferences, mentoring, and pushing for more female voices in tech.
We can lead with empathy, creating solutions that are innovative but also ethical and sustainable. Web3 gives us the tools to build systems that can make a positive impact, and we have the responsibility to ensure that this revolution remains a force for good.
I know that, at times, we may feel isolated—especially in a space where many voices don’t reflect our own. Imposter syndrome can creep in, making us question our role in all of this. But remember: the moment we doubt ourselves, we risk slowing the progress for the next wave of leaders following in our footsteps. I’ve had those moments too. I’ve questioned my worth and asked, “Who am I to be a leader in this movement?”
But then I hear Kendrick Lamar saying: “They not like us.” and I am reminded that:
I am the woman who stepped into the unknown and jumped. I am the woman that spent countless hours a day in research and development to learn this innovative NEW industry, one that is not taught in schools, AND has the potential to make a generational impact if only WE ALL KNEW about it! I am the woman that sacrificed it ALL, literally going for BROKE to show the world how crucial this is. Broke like a cell phone cut off heading to a life changing meeting BROKE. But I was full of FAITH because this is not about me, this is not about you, this is about the BILLIONS of lives Web3 has the capability of changing.
The lives we touch, the communities we impact, and the opportunities we create are all part of a legacy that will echo for generations. And so I urge you to step fully into your power.
Own your VISION, own your contributions and brilliance. Together, we are stronger, bolder, and more unstoppable than ever.
I may not be here for a long time, but I’m here for a good time. And in that time, I want to see us shine brighter than ever—UNITED in purpose and passion as we continue building this road to the future.
So let’s keep pushing the limits with this technology, identifying innovative ways to uplift Global communities by simply being more efficient and effective with our use of Web3 and our brilliant VISIONS.
We’re not just here to break ceilings; we’re here to build new ones—higher, stronger, and limitless.
Together, we are the revolution, not just shaping the future of Web3, but the future of leadership and an endless number of historical ‘FIRSTS’ set by nifty women.
Being that we are WOMEN of Web3 we have become NFTy as in (N -F-T-Y) is one who is particularly skillful and effective in Web3.
I am referred to as Ms. NFTy. But, you ALL are a ‘Ms. NFTy’ Because BABYYYY, let me tell you…….. the things I have heard today…..
Ms. NFTy, YOU INSPIRE me!

Lastly, I am happy to announce that we are launching our first Women of Web3 book titled "Women in the Web3 Space: Inclusive Futures (2024 Edition)" available on Amazon late September, with a Spanish version to follow later this year.
The book will feature chapters from renowned contributors such as Carley Beck, Débora Betsabé Mercedes Carrizo, Marisa “Ritzy P” Estrada Rivera, Sandra Martinez, Wildy Martinez, Leslie Motta, and Ana Isabel Rivas Fernández “Anana”, with insightful contributions from advisors Cyndi Coon, Mauricio Cruz and AmarantaMartinez “Superama.” With a foreword by Sandy Carter (Chief Operating Officer, Unstoppable Domains, Top 10 AI Influencer, and Best Selling Author), and an afterword by Dani Mariano (President, Razorfish), the book promises to be both thought-provoking and inspiring.
The book will also have a special digital asset or non-fungible token (NFT) collectible art piece titled Blossom Awakening by Wildy Martinez, Fashion Designer, Web3 Artist, and Fashion Illustrator, and an augmented reality feature by Amaranta Martinez “Superama,”Crypto Artist and WW3 Art Director. This collectible represents ownership of the book and access to the Women of Web3 community.

By bringing these narratives to the forefront, WW3 is not just documenting the progress of women in the Web3 space—it is actively shaping the future for the next generation of digital innovators.
Through the synergy of the UN session and the book, Women of Web3 is creating a powerful narrative and action plan that empowers women globally to lead, innovate, and thrive in the digital age.
Transition (Sandy): Don't miss out being agents of change with us, and now for a few closing remarks from our amazing Cyndi Coon.
Cyndi:
Together, Sandy and I have crafted a dream focused on the role of women in Web3, grounded in the fundamental belief that when women thrive economically, entire communities—and indeed the world—benefit.
We brought together a diverse group of women to share their stories. These women and their stories deepened my commitment to supporting Sandy as she launches the Women in Web3 organization.
As an advisor and advocate, I continue to champion the inclusion of female voices in the Web3 space—not just at the UNGA, but far beyond. My desire is to amplify the voices of these remarkable women, ensuring their stories are heard and celebrated.
The creation of this initiative and the book that is coming out soon are testaments to our commitment. The women featured are pioneers and experts; their names deserve to be known. As you read their stories, I hope you are inspired by their dedication to their communities and their vision for the future of Web3. These women have the ability to see what is yet invisible, the courage to pursue it, and the leadership to bring it into reality. They are the true voices of the future in Web3.
Thank you.
Sandy: Thank you Cyndi for your kind words. You have always been an inspiration.
As we wrap up this incredible session, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful sponsors, esteemed audience, and of course, our inspiring speakers, for making this a truly magical experience. We are deeply grateful to the United Nations 79th Science Summit for this incredible opportunity to highlight the visionary women leading the way in Web3.
Thank you again, and now I leave you with the special dedication I wrote for our special first Women of Web3 book. “To all the women in the world, always dreaming big. May you find the courage to chase your dreams, the strength to break every barrier, and the wisdom to bloom wherever you are planted. Never give up, nunca se rindan. Your dreams are powerful—let them lead the way.”
Thank you!
And now we leave you with a track by Liseli-AKA Lady Light called Tongoka, featuring Theresa Ng'ambi. It's a positive track about keeping your head up even when others complain about you without them fully understanding you.
*Sandy plays track by Liseli. After this, all featured speakers and moderators turn on their cameras, so we collectively end the session. Link: https://legacy.catalog.works/lady-light1/tongoka
